History of First Citizens Bank
In 1979, a group of local businessmen founded First Citizens Bank with one purpose in mind: to provide a healthy banking environment for local businesses and individuals. The doors first opened on July 8, 1980, operating under a local management and conservative governing philosophy.
Today, this banking philosophy continues and is blended with a current management philosophy that incorporates the advantages of technological improvements that enable us to offer our customers the same support and services offered by larger banks.
On March 19, 2010, First Citizens Bank, in Crenshaw County, Alabama, acquired First Lowndes Bank, expanding our service area to Butler and Lowndes counties. Our branches are located in Luverne, Fort Deposit, Greenville, Hayneville and Highland Home. Our Associates at each branch are both professional bankers and members of the communities they serve. They truly care about our customers and their goal is to meet and exceed our customer’s expectations with excellent customer service.
Our growth throughout the years has been a direct result of our dedication to, and investment in, our local communities through small business, agriculture, mortgage, and personal loans, as well as other products and banking services. We will continue to combine quality customer driven service with the latest in technological advancements to ensure that we remain a leader in the community development of the communities we serve.
